Queen poster out: Ramya Krishnan looks believable as J Jayalalithaa in biopic
Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa breathed her last on December 5, 2016, after being hospitalised for 75 days. After her passing away, nearly five biopics were announced. Recently, director Vijay released the first-look poster of her biopic, Thalaivi featuring Kangana Ranaut.
Acclaimed filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon along with Prasath Murugesan worked on a web-series titled Queen. The makers roped in Ramya Krishnan to reprise J Jayalalithaa in the series. Recently, the first-look poster of Ramya’s look from the series was launched on social media.
Along with the poster, the makers also announced that the trailer of the series will be released tomorrow (December 5). In the first-look poster, Ramya Krishnan looks believable as J Jayalalithaa and is seen clad in a white saree. Her fans seem to agree with the fact and have been showering praises on the actress’s conviction.
A couple of days ago, the makers unveiled the web-series’ teaser which gave us a glimpse of Queen. The teaser lists out Jayalalithaa’s achievements at several stages of her life and how she became the youngest chief minister of Tamil Nadu. The intriguing part of the teaser was that it didn’t show the face of the actors who played J Jayalalithaa at different stages of her life.
Queen will be available on MX Player and the release date will be announced in the coming days. According to sources close to the team, the web-series will have five important characters. As of now, Vivek Rajagopal, who shot to limelight for his role in Tamil film Echarikkai: Idhu Manidhargal Nadamaadum Idam, plays one of the pivotal roles in the web-series
